At Sri Sawariya Seth Gurukul, customer satisfaction is at the heart of everything we do. We understand that sometimes plans change or orders may not arrive as expected. This policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancelling orders, returning products, and receiving refunds in a fair, transparent, and hassle-free manner. Please read through the details carefully before initiating any request.

Order Cancellations

We offer a flexible cancellation window to give you peace of mind when placing an order. You may cancel your order within 12 hours of placing it, or at any point before the order has been shipped — whichever occurs earlier. Once the order is packed and handed over to our courier partner, it enters the shipping pipeline and cannot be cancelled directly. However, if you miss the cancellation window, you still have the option to refuse delivery at the time of arrival or initiate a return after receiving the package, subject to the return conditions outlined below.

To cancel an order, simply log into your account, navigate to your recent orders, and click the "Cancel Order" button. Alternatively, you can reach out to our customer support team with your order number, and we will process the cancellation on your behalf. Once cancelled, you will receive a confirmation email, and any payment made will be refunded according to our refund timeline.

Eligibility for Returns

We take great care in packaging and dispatching every book, but we acknowledge that issues can occasionally arise during transit or fulfillment. We accept returns only under the following specific circumstances:

  • Damaged Product: The book arrives with physical damage such as torn covers, bent pages, water damage, or spine breakage that affects readability or appearance.
  • Printing Errors: The book contains manufacturing defects like missing pages, blurred or smudged text, inverted printing, or duplicate/misprinted sections.
  • Wrong Title Sent: You receive a completely different book than the one you ordered — incorrect title, wrong edition, or mismatched author.

Please note that we do not accept returns for reasons such as a change of mind, finding a lower price elsewhere, or subjective dissatisfaction with the book's content. We encourage you to read book descriptions, reviews, and sample pages before making a purchase to ensure it meets your expectations.

Return Request Timeline

To qualify for a return, you must notify us within 48 hours of receiving the delivery. This strict timeline allows us to investigate the issue promptly and coordinate with our logistics partners if needed. Requests submitted beyond this 48-hour window may not be eligible for a return or refund, as we cannot verify whether the damage or discrepancy occurred after delivery. The 48-hour countdown begins from the timestamp recorded by the courier partner at the time of delivery.

How to Initiate a Return

Initiating a return is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to ensure your request is handled efficiently:

  • Step 1 — Email Us: Send an email to srigurukul101@gmail.com with the subject line "Return Request – Order #[Your Order Number]".
  • Step 2 — Attach Photographs: Include clear, well-lit photographs that clearly show the damage, defect, or wrong item. Photographs of the outer packaging are also helpful if the damage occurred during transit.
  • Step 3 — Provide Details: In the email body, briefly describe the issue you encountered. Mention whether you prefer a replacement or a full refund.
  • Step 4 — Await Approval: Our team will review your request within1 to 2 business days. If approved, we will provide further instructions for returning the item, including a pickup arrangement or a return shipping address.

Once your return is approved, we will arrange a free reverse pickup from your registered delivery address. You do not need to bear any return shipping charges. Simply pack the book securely in its original packaging (if available) and hand it over to the courier executive when they arrive.

Return Acceptance Conditions

To ensure a smooth return process, please make sure the returned item meets the following conditions:

  • The book must be returned in the same condition it was received, with all original accessories such as dust jackets, bookmarks, or supplementary inserts included.
  • The original invoice or a copy of it should be placed inside the return package for identification and verification purposes.
  • The book should not show signs of additional damage, misuse, or mishandling beyond what was originally reported.
  • Return pickup must be completed within 5 days of approval to avoid automatic cancellation of the return request.

Refund Processing

Once the returned item is received and inspected by our quality check team, we will confirm whether the return meets our policy criteria. Upon approval, the refund will be initiated to your original payment method — whether that is a bank account, credit card, debit card, UPI, or wallet. The refund amount will include the full product price paid. Shipping charges, if any were paid, are also refunded in cases where the return is due to our error (damaged, defective, or wrong item).

Refunds are typically processed within 5 to 7 working days after return approval. However, the exact time it takes for the funds to reflect in your account depends on your bank or payment provider's processing timelines. In some cases, credit card refunds may take up to one billing cycle to appear on your statement. You will receive an email notification as soon as the refund has been initiated from our end, along with a transaction reference number for your records.

Non-Refundable Scenarios

To maintain clarity and fairness, the following scenarios are not eligible for a refund or return:

  • Return requests submitted after the 48-hour notification window has passed.
  • Minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect readability, such as slight corner dents or minor scuffs on the cover.
  • Books damaged due to mishandling by the customer after delivery.
  • Items purchased during clearance or "final sale" promotions explicitly marked as non-returnable at the time of purchase.
  • Digital products such as eBooks, audiobooks, or downloadable content.
